Adding and managing email addresses
Your Stash account can have one or more email addresses. Every verified email on your account can be used to sign in. Only the primary email receives notifications. This is useful if you want both a personal and a work email tied to your account, or as a backup in case you lose access to one.
Where to manage emails
Click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar.
Click Manage account.
Open the Profile tab.
Look at the Email addresses section.
Your primary email is marked with a Primary badge. Other verified emails appear next to it.
Adding a secondary email
Open Account → Profile.
Click Add email address.
Enter the new email and submit.
Check that inbox — Stash sends a 6-digit verification code.
Enter the code in Stash to verify ownership.
The new email appears in your list. Once verified, you can sign in using it just like the primary one.
What's the difference between primary and secondary?
Both can be used to sign in (same magic link or 6-digit code flow — Stash never uses passwords).
The difference is what they're used for after sign-in:
Primary — receives all account notifications (low stock alerts, team invites, billing emails)
Secondary — only used for sign-in. Doesn't receive notifications.
Switching the primary email
Open Account → Profile.
Click the ⋯ menu next to the email you want to make primary.
Choose Set as primary.
From that point on, all notifications go to the new primary email.
Removing an email
Open Account → Profile.
Click the ⋯ menu next to the email.
Choose Remove.
Two restrictions:
You can't remove the primary email. Set a different one as primary first, then remove the old one.
You must always have at least one email on your account.
Common scenarios
Lost access to my primary email
If you have a secondary email that you can still access, sign in using that. Then go to Account → Profile, switch the secondary to primary, and remove the old one.
If you only have the inaccessible email on your account, get in touch via chat — we can help.
Want to use both my work and personal email
Add both. Pick whichever inbox you check more often as the primary. You can sign in from either.
Will adding an email give that address access to my org?
No. Email addresses are tied to your individual user account. Adding an email doesn't invite anyone to your organization. Only your team's Admins can do that — see Inviting team members.
